HomeUncategorizedEating Healthy at Abrusci’s

It’s the new year, time for putting resolutions in place and setting our sights on having a great year. What’s one of the most common goals? Eating right and appreciating a healthy lifestyle. When people think about eating right, most of the time they jump straight over to raw vegetables and salads. Sounds like fun? We think not. We’re here to tell you that you can healthily AND enjoy yourself.

Eating out proves to be difficult when you’re on a clean diet. Whether you’re restricting certain items or you’re searching for clean food overall, we want you to know that you can dine out without breaking your diet or resolutions. Here are a few ways Abrusci’s is helping you eat out healthily in 2019:

Homemade sauces and dressings

The important thing to do when dining out is not just thinking about what you’re eating, but actually, what’s in the food you’re enjoying. Processed ingredients, artificial sugars, and fillers are common contributors to food that’s simply not good for you. While eating out, you might order a dish that fits your healthy criteria. However, without the ability to analyze the ingredient label, how do you know what you’re eating? At Abrusci’s, we make all of our sauces and dressings from scratch ourselves without any added sugars, MSG, preservatives, or fillers. From pastas to salads, you can rest assured that your meal will be exactly what you ordered, a delicious, clean, good-for-you meal.

We are always proud to boast that 90% of our menu can be made gluten-free. And it doesn’t stop there! Our gluten free options are absolutely delicious. We’re on a mission to break the association that gluten-free is tasteless. Our gluten-free pizza dough is some of the best around and even our calamari is gluten-free. Our servers are happy to help you navigate which items can be made gluten-free, and our kitchen has separate processes and utensils for crafting gluten-free meals. Whether you have a dietary restriction or you just are giving gluten-free a try, Abrusci’s is the perfect place to learn that a gluten-free life can still be delicious and satisfying.

Zucchini Noodles

A popular trend, zucchini noodles, or “zoodles” are a great way to include more veggies into your meal, especially if you’re a big fan of pasta (which means we’re big fans of you!). Zoodles are made using a spiralizer, which creates thin ribbon “noodles” out of the zucchini to be added to any of our pasta dishes. Our signature Linguini & Clams made with zucchini noodles? Yum!

Soups + Salads

An obvious lighter choice, Abrusci’s salads and soups are a great way to enjoy a light meal or add some color to an entree. Our Kitchen Sink Salad is full of almost every vegetable in the kitchen, and we are always rotating our soup of the day to be made with the season’s freshest vegetables. Our Soup & Salad combos are great for lunch, especially if you add a protein to your salad. Here’s another great idea: share a more indulgent dish like Chicken Wings with a friend or loved one and enjoy a soup or salad by yourself. Balance and moderation are key when eating healthy, but so is having fun and eating food you love.

Food is not only a necessity, it’s an experience to be enjoyed. Enjoying yourself doesn’t mean banning tasty options or comfort foods that make you smile. It’s about balance, moderation, and fresh, homemade recipes. So, come in to Abrusci’s to kick off your year on the right foot. However, we can’t promise we won’t encourage you to treat yourself and enjoy dessert. The tiramisu isn’t gonna eat itself, after all.

Unfortunately, our walk-in cooler went down on Saturday (6-17-17) night. We had to toss all stocked food. Due to this unexpected problem, we will be closed Monday, June 19th for Lunch and Dinner and Tuesday, June 20th for Lunch.

We will reopen for Dinner on Tuesday, June 20th.

Thanks for your patience, see you all soon!
