HomeCommunityGluten-Free: The Italian Way

Gluten-free options are everywhere these days. At Abrusci’s, we are constantly working to create fantastic dishes – traditional and gluten-free. From those who have celiac to those who choose a gluten-free lifestyle, it is our goal provide the best tasting gluten-free Italian meals. With that, 97% of our menu has a gluten-free option, leaving no shortage of delicious meals to choose from. A few items, like our meatballs, are only available gluten free.

Providing gluten-free options to customers requires restaurants to go above and beyond. The challenge isn’t providing the gluten-free option, it’s making your gluten-free customers feel like they’re being provided with the same delicious meals as anyone else. This process is nothing new to the team at Abrusci’s, who have been serving up gluten-free options since 2001.

To cater to our gluten-free customers, all of our traditional and gluten-free cooking processes are done separately. This includes separate knives and utensils labeled by a purple handle, using different water when cooking the pasta, different oils for frying food and to top it off, we even have separate ovens for pizza. The secret ingredients to our gluten-free success incorporate a combination of white rice flour, sweet rice flour, and tapioca starch and our bread is sourced from our good friends at Gluten Free Things.

A few notable moments stick out in our minds when we think back on our gluten-free history. In 2003, we were the first restaurant in Denver with a stand-alone gluten-free menu. Then in 2004, we were highlighted by 5280 Magazine as a gluten-free provider. By 2012, 5280 had awarded us with the title of Best Gluten-Free Menu. Over the past 17 years, we have worked tirelessly to provide the best gluten-free options for our customers.

The point is, whether it’s brunch, lunch or dinner, we’ve got our gluten-free customers covered. Our menu items will make your mouth water.
